Book-Formatting Services
About My Services:
As a book formatter, I use Vellum to format my own novels and my clients' novels for publication. This software allows me to generate PDFs that are suitable for publishing professional and sophisticated paperbacks and hardcovers as well as ePub files for eBook platforms such as Kindle, Apple, Nook, Kobo, and Google Books. I provide my clients with all the files we generate along with the original source (Vellum) file for their own ownership and future use. Upon completion of each job, I delete my clients' files from my computer and cloud to maintain my clients' privacy. I do not use Artificial Intelligence to format; nor do I work with clients who incorporate AI use into any aspect of their work.
When you're ready to format your manuscript, please provide me with a brief synopsis of what your book is about for the following two reasons: It will give me an idea of which formatting styles to suggest based on industry standards, norms, and trends, and it will let me notify you immediately if your project sounds similar to a project I am personally working on. This conversation is necessary so that we maintain the integrity of both our projects. (For more information on my works-in-progress, see my Books tab.)
My Rates / Fine Print:
My flat rate to format a book is $175 per project via PayPal or Venmo. This includes three rounds of revisions and the finalized PDF, ePub files, and original source files. If you would like to purchase additional rounds of revisions, please note that an additional $30 would be added to each revision round. My turnaround time is three business days, and after an initial conversation and collaboration about the first draft, my turnaround time is approximately one day per revision, depending on client communication.
Before I begin with my services, I require a 50% deposit. The remaining 50% will be due upon completion of the book-formatting services. Please note: I will hold a three-day period for your project but cannot start until the first deposit is made. If the period passes without any deposit, my services for your project will move to the next available time slot. If the payment is within the same week but late, I will still need a three-day window to complete my best work for your first draft, which could mean moving your project to the next available week.
I am happy to do payment plans! Please mention this in the contact form below so we can chat more. I am also happy to provide sliding scale options with no questions asked. When your book's interior is finalized, I'm pleased to offer one complimentary round of revisions once you've received a proof copy of your book. If there's anything you'd like to change after you have your book in hand, just reach out to me so we can fix it right away.
